Mosquito Concerns West Nile & Zika

Additional Information

-West Nile and Zika are both viruses that are spread by mosquito's. They can both cause fever, body aches, and rashes in adults, and in some cases can lead to more serious health problems.

-For people living in Phoenix, it is important to be aware of the risks associated with these viruses, and take steps to protect yourself.

-It is especially important that individuals with weakened immune systems are aware of the risk, as these viruses can lead to more serious health problems.

-Mosquito's are attracted to stagnant water, where they lay their eggs. This means that ponds or other bodies of still water are breeding grounds for mosquitoes, but there are steps you can take to reduce the mosquito population around your property.

-By dumping out any standing water in gardening pots, pet dishes, bird baths and clogged gutters each week, you can prevent mosquito eggs from hatching. You should also avoid leaving extra sources of standing water around by emptying things like flower vases after every use, and keeping buckets turned upside down outdoors overnight.
